This is how you would eliminate side lobe problems:

• Situate your radar in a small valley such that the side lobes are cut off

• So, how do side lobes contaminate your data other than producing ground clutter echo?
• Side lobes echoes will be at same range as the max echo in the storm being scanned and it will be weaker than max echo.
