Near Infrared Channel - 3.9 microns

- There are many applications of the
3.9 micron channel when combined with the others.
- The fundamental difference between
this channel and the others is that at 3.9
microns, both reflected solar and emitted
long wave radiation are detected.
- There are three properties which
make the 3.9 micron channel unique and quite
useful:
- emissivity differences
- reflective differences
- subpixal effects
let's look at each of these
individually
